Natalya Braitsara: “I long planned to move to Zaporizhzhia where Polina could receive high-quality rehabilitation and a good education. The circumstances last year were such that we were left without her dad. Already being a single mother, I decided to move. Since January 2019, we have been living in Zaporizhzhia. To say that it was difficult to settle into a new place is an understatement. Now I assist Polina to attend kindergarten for a few hours a day. Together we discover the world around us and rejoice in everything new and interesting.”
“Despite having a long commute to kindergarten, Polina really likes to ride transit buses, especially the big ones which she calls papa buses.
Polina loves animals and wishes to visit a zoo. But first, how can Polina’s muscles be trained to keep her balance and allow her to walk confidently? Scoliosis forces her to wear a hard corset around-the-clock. It's very difficult. I am sure that physical therapy is having a huge positive effect on my baby. She is becoming stronger, with more endurance. And physical therapy significantly advances intellectual progress… The support of caring people is so very important! We are especially grateful to the staff of the Foundation for their understanding, extensive support, and help!”
Polina needs physical therapy and medications. These expenses aren’t affordable for a single mom. For children such as Polina, monthly therapeutic massages are recommended. At least 5000 UAH (about $200 USD) per month is needed to support Polina’s health. Therefore, we will be happy if more people want to help this small family.
