Any visit to the hospital with the baby is not a pleasant occupation. And if you have to sweat a couple of hours in a long line it becomes a real feat.
The consultation clinic in the children's hospital in Zaporozhie region daily takes more than two hundred young patients from all over the region. Until last summer the air temperature in the clinic could bring the child to faint. And the doctors who work in such conditions at the end of the working day are simply not able to work normally.
In the Cardiology department located on the top floor of the building the situation was not easier. In consideration of children’s heart problems, the lack of air conditioning could lead to sad consequences, as repeatedly stated the head of the department. Unfortunately, the hospital did not have the funds to purchase the air conditioners.
Fortunately, thanks to you, dear donors, in 2009 the fund "Happy Child" paid for the installation of several powerful ceiling air-conditioners for the clinic and the Cardiology department. The sum of expenditure of the fund for these purposes was about 38 000 hryvnias ($ 4900). The little patients, their parents and the medical staff finally are able to "breathe freely".

The hot season of 2010 is approaching, when patients and physicians of the hospital will once again be fighting not only against disease, but also with the heat. The air conditioners are necessary in the departments of surgery, endocrinology, pathology, neonatal department and many others.
We hope that, as in the past year, with your help we can solve the problem and create a decent hospital environment for seriously ill children and their doctors.
