Nikolay is rather cocky. Sports, one of his favorites, is just one interest out of many. He loves to play football and go hiking. It’s absolutely clear that Nikolay is a born leader. At first glance it may seem to you that he doesn’t care about anything. But it is not true. Nikolay cares a lot about his school accomplishments. He is deeply concerned when he is not good at a subject. He is keen on mathematics.
What else could I tell you about this young man? He likes to be helpful. Nikolay is a real master. He watches over the order, territory and property of the orphanage. If he notices some mess he organizes the boys to clean. Nikolay is skillful and likes to make some minor repairs. He never lacks diligence.
During hiking
Sometimes some of the orphanage teachers invite Nikolay to visit them. He enjoys such visits a lot. He cherishes each single opportunity to dive into a family atmosphere and enjoy a home cooked meal. Nikolay also loves helping around the house with chores. He is proud of being useful to someone and seeing the results of his work. For example, thanks to him a garden which was previously full of weeds, is now clean; something was broken but now is repaired. Nikolay likes spending lots of time in workshops and learning something new. And what’s more he is already thinking of his future profession. He’s now considering to become a painter–plasterer. The young lad is also interested in metalwork. He also, you will hardly believe it, loves embroidery and he can do it very well! Unfortunately all the pupils’ works are put away for summer, so Nikolay could not show us his embroideries.
So, if you wish this bright boy to find his place under the sun, welcome him in your family.

Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
