Students get acquainted with the procedure of customs control and have a chance to feel themselves real pilots

Right choice of the future profession is one of the important factors of success and self-fulfillment of any individual in society. That is why “The Happy Child” Foundation proceeds with its “I Want to Be” Project. The aim of this project is to motivate children to get after-school training, and also to help them choose the right area of professional development in future.

On 20 September 35 students of the Training & Rehabilitation Orphanage Center (former Orphanage School No. 3) made a tour to the Zaporozhye International Airport. They were told about the role of the Air Security Control Department and were shown the principles of operation of a customs scanner and a metal detector. Potential future staff members got a chance to see the Central Control Unit of the International Airport, walk along the runway strip and finally they got a unique opportunity for a few minutes to feel themselves real pilots in the cabin of Yak-40 passenger aircraft belonging to Constanta Airline.

All the way back to the orphanage the children were full of positive emotions and good mood. Staff members of “The Happy Child” Foundation, Constanta Airline and the Zaporozhye International Airport genuinely believe that it might happen that this tour will help some of the students to answer the question “Who do I want to be?” and will become one of the key incentives in choosing the future profession that they will love.

We would like to thank staff members of Zaporozhye International Airport and Constanta Airline for their assistance in arranging the tour:

Viktor Beskopsky – Director General of the International Airport (IA);

Andrey Kuchin – Director General of Constanta Airline;

Ihor Kuroschepov – First Deputy of Director General for Technical Security of the Airport;
