The first day.
Early in the morning a group of eighteen children, three volunteers and two mothers arrived in heroic city of Sevastopol.
After breakfast at a central city square surrounded by birds of peace, namely doves, we headed to an interesting new memorial complex called "35th battery”. The turret battery 35 is one of the most powerful fortification artillery constructions of the Sevastopol coast defense. This legendary place witnessed a heroic defense during 1941-45. Some thousands of soldiers and commanders were bravely offering resistance to their enemy.
This pantheon of memories touches the heartstring and brings us fond memories of the last defenders of Sevastopol. One should definitely visit this museum in honour of their memory and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for us.
Later, exhausted members of our trip finally reached the place of our destination: the Lesotel Hotel situated at the picturesque Baydar Valley.
The second day. Hiking tour to the seaside.
First I did not really believe that we would manage to overcome 16 km and reach the Black Sea.
However, the children did something impossible: after conquering thirst and feet pains, in the evening they admired Foros, some children even dared to swim! But before that we visited Baydar Gates and a beautiful Foros church.
We were singing Russian and Ukrainian songs on our way back to the hotel by taxi. In the evening we entertained ourselves with a talents show that was presented by young and adult participants.
The third day. The underground and Chernorechensky Canyon.
After our morning exercises and delicious breakfast made for us by Lena – a generous hostess of the hotel, we went to explore an underground construction of Ukraine called “Object 221”.
It was a good idea to take some flashlights and warm clothes since it was very dark and damp inside. After we eventually reached the surface, everyone cherished the warmth and light of the Sun.
On the way to the canyon we stopped at the monastery. We also crossed the cleanest river Chernaya situated at the longest canyon of the Crimea – Chernorechensky. We had to enjoy our lunch in the pouring rain.
The fourth day. The seaside tour.
After we packed our luggage and said goodbye to our hosts of the Lesotel Hotel, we went to Sevastopol.
The moment of glory of our trip was the excursion boat tour along Sevastopol Bay.
We’re grateful to Elena and Timur – our dear Lesotel Hotel hosts for their warm hospitality and delicious meal.
