Have you ever smiled all of a sudden at seeing someone’s child? Some kids just melt your heart and some make you laugh at their pranks. And some children make you smile and feel joy every time you see them. Maxim is just this kind of a child. He only looks at you and you are all smiles.
He is a special child, indeed, as well as very tender and able-minded. He likes to copy gestures of a person that’s next to him - I played with Max, quickly changing the position of my hands and legs, turning my head and making finger movements, and he readily copied them. I’m sure he can be taught to dance or to perform pantomimes in this way – if only there’s someone who wants to take this up.
Children of this kind have an enormous amount of tenderness: Max would take and lightly stroke the hand of every new woman that comes to the orphanage, as he thinks this might be his mother. Whether it is a temporary nanny or an outside person – he still thinks this might be his mom.
Maxim likes drawing, though he is not very good at it yet, and patience is not his strongest point. But the boy is very open-minded and easy to please: he would gladly play in the sand, or dance in the room, or see the pictures in the book and learn the names of animals – whatever. To any kind of play or activity this child responds with a smile. He only doesn’t like to be punished. Well, who does?
This child’s warmth and tenderness will be a gracious reward for a loving family that will choose to adopt him.

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
