Medical conclusion

This February 2013 Dima’s family had to face new challenges. Dima’s life was in danger again. There was a sense of deja vu: another round of concerns, stress, and sleepless nights that were caused by an unexpected relapse.

Another examination in Kyiv and a six-month treatment of “Topotekan” medicine, two CAT scans revealed that even though the boy’s tumor did not change its size, it had to be removed as soon as possible…

This surgery that took place on May 29th was rather risky because the tumor was located between aorta and a kidney. Straight from the operation room Dima was taken to the intensive care unit due to an allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics. The boy is in critical condition at the moment.

The further treatment requires another CAT scan of abdominal and thoracic cavities. Then Dima should urgently consult some cancer specialists in Kyiv.

The “Happy Child” charity foundation already funded some of Dima’s examinations but we cannot manage it alone without your help now. We’re asking you to support our fund-raising campaign for Dima Lyaut’s treatment. CAT scan and some medicine will cost approximately 1,500 hryvnyas (that’s 188 US dollars). Dima’s parents are morally and financially exhausted but they are fighting for the life of their beloved son. Dima’s recovery was so close but his relapse has changed it and now we should do our very best to help this little fighter to bring his happy healthy life back! Help, please!
