Kristina Voytovich, do you remember her? To be honest, whenever I see Kristinas mother mobile number on my phone display, I start feeling shaky. "There are problems again", is the first thought that comes to me. And hearing Elena's heavy breathing over the phone and her first phrase, "Good afternoon, Alina," I realize that my thoughts were true, and Kristina is indeed in trouble.

In the beginning of 2013, Kristina was prescribed "Zefiks" and "Vifend". She needed to take these medications for at least six months, but she had to stop earlier because she didn't have the money to pay for these medications. This resulted in multiple problems, which are still here today...

In early October 2013, the problems again burst into the Voytovich family. Kristina's skin suddenly turned yellow, and both she and her mother became alarmed, because it was clear that the hepatitis was back. During the next four months, our foundation, thanks to you, our dear benefactors, was helping Kristina get treatment in Melitopol and Zaporozhye, but there was no result and her hepatic cells kept slowly dying. Then the decision was made for Kristina to go to Kiev to the Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

Further testing at the Institute revealed that Kristina has not only hepatitis B, but also hepatitis D, which is even more difficult to treat. Kristina and Elena have only been in Kiev for a week, but they've already spent more than 7,000 hryvnyas (765 US dollars). Kristina was prescribed medications which can, according to the specialists, help cure her hepatitis B, and start treating hepatitis D afterwards.

According to the estimates, the total cost of the treatment will be about 100,000 hryvnyas (11,000 US dollars)! That's not only a huge sum, but the one Kristina's family absolutely cannot afford. All of us have been fighting for Kristinas life for several years now. It is thanks only to all of you and God that Kristina is still alive. And even though she is still ill, we should fight for her! I feel we are obligated to, because we have such an opportunity, to help Kristina. We must prove to her illnesses that Kristina Voytovich will remain healthy and alive, no matter what!
