When we visited Anna she was working on a math assignment. The moment she noticed there were unfamiliar faces in the room her eyes lit up with joy and she was extremely excited to meet us. After finishing counting the parrots on the board, she got up and introduced herself to each guest.

Anna has special needs and therefore has a bit more difficulty learning than most children. She has difficulty with her speech and also has trouble memorizing and reciting poems and fairy tales. However, the teachers do not think that she is far behind the other students. In order for Anna to understand the materials taught in class she needs a little more time than other students.

Teachers commend Anna for her perseverance as she is always trying extra hard to understand the class materials. But unfortunately Anna can be easily distracted by any noise and when this happens the material has to be repeated.

When Anna isnТt in class, she loves to solve puzzles, play board games and build little cities from building sets.

Anna also likes coloring books and loves to read fairy tales with her teachers over and over again.

After school Anna likes to relax and like any normal kid, Anna likes to relax with her family Ц her dolls.

She feeds and dresses up her dolls as if they were her own Уchildren.Ф Anna dreams that one day she too will have someone that loves and so warmly takes care of her.

If you are interested in adopting, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact ChildrenТs Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56.

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
