From June 26 to July 4, a group of youth from the Zaporozhe region embarked on a journey to the Carpathian Mountains. There they climbed to the highest point of Ukraine – Hoverla. Due to some unusual weather conditions, this hike was one of the most difficult ever in the club’s history. The young boys and girls did a great job staying strong demonstrating their character and willpower.
On the very first evening, the young travelers were met with rain. During this time they set up camp, the tents and cooked their first dinner. Like in the lyrics of one song, the kids did not wait for nature’s mercy. The next day the first group set off for Hoverla’s peak. Despite the weather all the hikers successfully made it to the top of Hoverla!
Once they made it to the top and the rain had “washed” the Carpathian Mountains, they knew the trip was worth it. The stunning scenery and splendor, grand views of the mountain peaks, emerald sea of mountain rains overwhelmed the hearts and souls of the young hikers.
The more experienced and prepared group took a different route going through the Chernogorski Ridge and hiked down to the stunning Nesamovytomu Lake. One of the most interesting places the group stopped by was the unique Brebensul Lake – the highest lake in Ukraine. Even though it is summer, the group managed to have some fun and play in the snow. Before climbing Hoverla, the hikers climbed to the top of Pip-Ivan Chernogorski Mountain, which is only 40 meters shorter than Hoverla. It can be said that the group can check off two items from their tourist checklist!

On the way back, the young travelers stopped by the old city of Rahov and explored the legendary city of Lviv. We even had the opportunity to see the Tisa during the flood – a real mountain river.
All the hikers arrived back home with a calmer soul and body. The reward for their commitment and endurance during the trip was the unforgettable beauty and memories!
