Hello to our kind helpers! It seems like not too much time has passed since the day of the operation – just six months! But for Алёшеньки and his mom these six months have been full of new tests, discoveries and disappointments.
These past six months have tested the little boy’s endurance. Aleksey had to learn to walk again after being in bed for so long and the negative effects of the anesthesia on his neurological system. Despite these challenges, the family did not give up.
Aleksey has already been through two rounds of neurological rehabilitation. Once a month he goes in for a checkup for thrombophilia. The doctors are very happy with the results and say that Aleksey has great potential going forward. The most important thing right now is to continue fighting and not give up!
Meanwhile Aleksey continues to be on blood thinners because without them he cannot survive. At the injection locations he has some bruises, but does not mind because he knows they are part of his treatment. Each and every day his parents are excited by the progress they see. He is a smart little boy that deserves a healthy and happy childhood.
The time has come for an examination and consultation in Moscow, Russia. The visit is very important because it will help control the level of heparin in his blood. Unfortunately this analysis is not possible in Ukraine and neither is a consultation. The Filatov Clinic has already given us a quote that it will cost ~1,300.00 USD (32,831.56 UAH/83,350.00 RUB), which is actually less than expected. For the Voloshin family this is a lot of money. It is unrealistic that their family could collect such a large sum of money in a short period! The family needs to collect the funds by the 20th of September.
Dear supporters – we really need your help! We hope and believe that after his treatment Aleksey and his family will bring good news back home. For this to happen he needs to travel to Moscow and we need all the support we can get to make this a reality.
