Victoriya Khimich, born January 5, 2014, (4 years old in 2018).

Diagnoses: Cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, double hemiplegia.

Conclusion: page 1, page 2.

Since 2014, Nataly and her husband have been struggling for the health of their long-expected and loved daughter Victoriya. Hospital doctors said from her birth that she would never be able to sit or perceive the world around her. But as parents, they couldnТt resign and have been trying to initiate proper brain activity using expensive medicine. They tried massages, physiotherapy exercises, hippotherapy, and swimming.

Victoriya is progressing. She distinguishes colors and objects, mimics sounds, sits with support, and even tries to stomp her feet! This is great success for her mum, but there are troubles as well. Much money is spent on rehabilitation courses. To maintain achievement level, this child has to do rehabilitation courses every three months. Tickets and hotel cost about 20,000 UAH. In the intervals between trips the child has physiotherapy exercises and massage at home and drugs treatment Ц about 5000 to 7000 UAH. It is very hard to survive when only one parent has a job. It is good when there are close relatives or friends to lend a helping hand, but they canТt help all the time. After parents have sold everything they can and have very little money, they have to ask people who care for help.

Victoriya already had seven rehabilitation courses in the International Clinic of Rehabilitation in Truskavets, in western Ukraine. She has good results and prognosis, but she must not stop having this therapy. There is another rehabilitation course ahead which itself costs 470 USD (11,940 UAH). The family doesnТt have this money.

The family lives in Zaporizhzhia.
