There is a fairy tale hero in Slavic folklore called “hare-runner”. This nickname suits Oleg perfectly. Despite his legs’ problems he can run very fast. He does not run far away, though. He becomes tired very soon and looks for a chance to be given a lift in someone’s wheelchair.
Oleg’s final destination is usually the nearest swing set where he has the time of his life for many hours. Like any other boy he enjoys to play with car toys. He loves to assemble construction sets.
Oleg is not an easy child – he starts to scream or weep if something is not the way he wants. However, he calms down very soon and becomes again a cheerful child.
If you are interested in adopting Oleg, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56 and to tell them the number of Oleg's profile accordingly to the orphan list # 0055279.
Other children who dream of finding a family
If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
