=====================================

Dear everyone,

I’d like to ask you to help my seven-year old daughter – Valeriya Dyachenko.

My daughter was growing into a healthy and a cheerful child. Last September she started her school. In the middle of February I noticed some worrying health changes in my little daughter: fatigue, ataxia (uncoordinated movement), speech difficulties.

After we consulted a local neuropathologist we headed for Kiyv where my daughter had her MRT scan (magnetic resonance tomography). Soon Valeriya was diagnosed with brainstem glioma by Professor Orlov at the Institute of Neurosurgery. This terrible diagnosis was sadly confirmed at the National Institute of Cancer. So, we’ve started our big fight for life.

Happy past days...

Valeriya is taking her radiation and chemo therapies in Donetsk Regional Hospital named after Kalinin at the moment.

Starting from March 25th Valeriya had some drastic coordination changes. She had a squint in her left eye. The girl couldn’t walk, stand, sit nor eat independently. Valeriya also suffered from bad headaches. However after half of the therapy was over, Valeriya has started to feel better. Valeria is trying to sit and make some independent steps holding her mom’s hand. She can also swallow better. The latest computer tomography showed her cerebral cavity is enlarged, so it is necessary to undergo bypass surgery to eliminate hydrocephalus.

Ukrainian physicians have not agreed to operate on my girl. Our Ukrainian neurosurgeons have given us this painful verdict – Valeriya’s tumor is no longer operable.

I am not giving up. Valeriya is my only child and I am ready to fight till the end, catch the last straw of hope to save my daughter’s life. We have applied to a great number of clinics all over the world but received refusals. The only clinic which gave us hope is the Medical Institute in Berlin. They are ready to perform surgery on my daughter (this requires 27,890 euros). We have managed to raise only one-tenth of this big sum on our own. Our family budget is totally empty.

I hope for your kind support in raising the money for my daughter’s surgery. Help us save our beloved princess, please!

God bless you for your kindness!

Yours sincerely,

Olesya Dyachenko

The family lives in a city of Berdyansk (the Zaporizhzhia region).
