Our “Tyoma” is a fighter! He fights like a young man to fight off the disease. Of course without the help of his doctors, Tatiana Okul Ivanova, and the Charity Fund “Happy Child” Artemiy would be a very different position.

Tyoma absolutely loves football, knows all the teams and plays. He plays everywhere – at home, on the street and on the phone. He also practices akkido and diligently studies English. Like most boy his age, he also loves computer games and sometimes it is hard to get him away from the computer.

Tyoma will not be able to play soccer professionally due to his health. His pancreas is only functioning at 10 percent, his gallbladder is similar to that of a 2 month old baby, his lungs are clogged and has fibrotic changes in his liver. We are in constant need of Kreon, Ursofalk, Pulmozyme, and vitamins. He also has to take the vitamin booster Aquadex, which is specially formulated for people with cystic fibrosis. The most important of all of these medications is Pulmozyme, which is listed as an important drug for cystic fibrosis treatment in European countries, but not in Ukraine.

In fall, we experienced more bad news – Tyoma had a Pseudomonas infection – which we are still trying to get rid of to this day. His life consists of 10 inhalations per day, IV drips and many drugs that the family simply cannot afford to pay on their own (listed above).

Unfortunately, our company does not understand our problems that certain medications are not simply desired, but in fact required in many other countries around the world. We are using all means necessary and we truly believe that things will turn around and improve. We hope that if you are reading this, you are reading it with an open heart and ready to support Tyoma’s health and future.

As explained above, Tyoma is constantly fighting for his life and health. Inhalations, breathing exercises, and antibiotic therapies take up the majority of Tyoma’s time. He does not enjoy everything, but is looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. We will continue to fight!

Tyoma is a very happy and funny guy. He’s sort of like the class clown – he knows how to put a smile on everyone’s face. But as a mother, I see hope that my son has not given up, despite his complicated life. I cannot get upset for him for all the stress and unhappiness our family has faced, I am understanding and continue to love my son because despite the problems we face, we cherish the moments of pure joy and happiness!

We ask for your help so that he is not alone in this trouble! I dream that my son will continue to live not a few months, but a lifetime of health and happiness.
