Unknown desease kills children in Nezhin

Four kids and two adults died, and five kids were hospitalized on August, 7-11 because of an unknown infection in the Nezhin Children's home (Chernigov region) that is specialized in a therapy of central nervous system damages. The chief Sanitary Officer, Nicolay Donetz, informed about this during the brief of the Regional State Administration.

According to his words, the precise diagnosis will be considered on Thursday, but for now it's known that influenza A and B viruses are not the reasons of deaths.

According to the words of the Deputy Chairman of Chernigov Regional State Administration, Viktor Tanko, the Governor, Vladimir Khomenko, signed the administrative order and appointed a committee that includes doctors, police representatives to find out the reasons of a desease and preclude it at the Children's home in the future.

The Chief of Chernigov Public Health Administration, Vladimir Yashchenko, informed that hospitalized people's state of health is stabile, the highest one's temperature is 37,3 degree.

He added also that besides this 3 hospitalized persons are at the resuscitation department and two more are in the infectious disease ward. There are no new desease cases after August, 11th.

Now experts of the Chernigov region and Ministry of Health are working at the scene.

There are 67 children with central nervous system damages in the Nezhin Children's home.

The annual average mortality at the Children's home is 7-8 kids, but it has been 3 kid's deaths since the beginning of 2010 besides the mentioned deaths.
