The diagnosis of acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL) (a blood cancer) changed the course of the lives of her whole family.

On May 23, 2016, Nastia began four days of examination in preparation for an operation at Okhmatdet Children's Hospital in Kiev to transplant bone marrow from one of her brothers.
