Deputy Kyiv Mayor, Kyiv City Council Secretary Oles Dovhyi stresses that the ability of the social institutions and government to resolve the problems of orphans is one of the most important indicators of the country’s welfare, a “litmus paper” of the effectiveness of the power.

“Kyiv City Administration allots 80 apartments (3,500 square metres) for these girls and boys. This amount will be scaled up. Together with Kyiv Children Fund and within the frameworks of Turbota Charitable Program, we gifted 600 costumes to orphans-seniors a week ago,” said Dovhyi.

On behalf of Kyiv Mayor, Oles Dovhyi met Germany Ambassador to Ukraine Dietmar Studemann. They arranged to build a hostel for street kids in Dniprovsky District of Kyiv within the framework of the project Our Children.

According to his words, reforms of this sphere provide for creation of the family group care homes for orphans. About 50 kids up to 18 will be able live and study there.

“The city authorities try to cover the whole spectrum of parental care,” concluded Dovhyi.
