Photo gallery: This Saturday became “an Ice Age” for Zaporozhye children

November 30, 2011, 16:30 3796 Author: Vladimir Krasnogolovy, photos by Yulia Akhtman, translated by Elena Guda happychild.org.ua Last Saturday Zaporozhye children visited the «Katran » skating rink

Some time ago one was able to live a small life on skates. With the first spell of cold and frosty days our ancestors went to skating rinks as if to a celebration: young boys did that in order to run at breakneck speed past girls who demonstrated their elegance and grace (though they all did manage somehow to make acquaintances in this process); older people moved with dignity in rounds; as for children, they ran around in all directions screaming with joy (they are perfect at that). If you’ve ever seen the “Pokrovsky gate” film you know what I am talking about. ;)

However strange it may seem, these warm traditions are kept alive in Zaporozhye by the “Katran” (“Dogfish shark”) skating rink. To make the picture complete I would like to say that even children from large families were let “run around in all directions screaming with joy” by the skating rink administration - last Saturday they were invited for the excursion by “The Happy Child” foundation.

Look at the pictures and include it into your plans to visit the skating rink one of these days!

You can also read the children’s impressions and look through the photo gallery in our blog.

Many thanks to the administration of the "“Katran” skating rink for the obtained energy charge and festive mood of the children from families with multiple children.

If you are thinking of a way to spend Saturday nights – support the traditions and go to the skating rink. You are guaranteed to have a sea of joy, even if it’s a slightly frozen one!
