At the end of April, a reanimation ambulance car took little Maria and her parents to the Center of Children’s Oncology, Hematology and Immunology of the Republic of Belarus.
As the girl’s father, Dmitry, said, Zaporozhyzhe doctors did a great job. God bless them. They prepared a scheme of medicine administration for the whole route (which is 1,112 km) for the reanimation team, taking into account the girl’s diagnosis, and provided the full supply of blood products. A big ‘thank you’ to them.
On May 5, it was an important day – it was the start of the first block of the high-dose chemo therapy with vincristine. The block will take 6 days. Altogether there will be 5-6 blocks of 5 days with breaks between the blocks of 14-20 days. Then the girl will have a BMT (bone marrow transplantation).
The doctors took a lumbar puncture. Masha had no general anesthesia. Our little angel is so used to pain...
Dmitry wrote in his blog that he had a talk with the chief doctor of the Center.
She once more emphasized the severe state of our girl. But we know for sure that everything is going to be all right!
Then there was a talk with the Commercial Unit of the Center – in 2.5 months the Belarus Oncology Center should receive a pre-payment of USD 100,000 for the transplantation. The invoice should be ready on May 7. So far, USD 32,200 have been transferred to the account of the Center. We can’t say for sure for how long this money will be enough. Masha’s state is not stable, so only God knows which manipulations, in what quantity and with what medications she will need – it will all depend on her state.
The little Masha has severe complications, in particular related to her nervous system. She is losing weight and her parents carry her if the girl needs to move around. The poor girl is in pain, and it is so severe that even healthcare workers are losing their nerves. They are really impressed how strong the girl is.
The family needs our support like never before! We ask you, our dear readers, to pray for Masha and to help her with what you can to let this little but strong angel live!
