As of December 1, 171 families and 67 family-type children's homes function in the region, in which 759 orphans and children deprived of parental care are brought up.

“More than 5 thousand orphans and children deprived of parental care live in the Donetsk region. The overwhelming majority of them are brought up in families of guardians, trustees, foster families and family-type orphanages, ”said Pavel Kirilenko.

He also visited the family-type orphanage of Alexander and Yulianna Novgorodtsev in Kramatorsk. They are raising 8 orphans and children deprived of parental care, and 2 adopted children.

The press service also recalled that since 2019, measures have been taken in the region to purchase, on terms of co-financing from the regional and local budgets (50/50), cars for family-type orphanages, in which 8 or more children are brought up.

In 2019, on the specified conditions, 7 cars were purchased and transferred to orphanages for a total of 6.5 million UAH. In 2020, 2 cars were purchased for a total of 1 million 899 thousand UAH.
