October 7 marked a turning point for her, as she underwent a life-changing surgery at the Okhmatdyt Children's Center to align and stabilize her spine. In medical terms, it's known as "posterior instrumental correction of the spine with a polysegmental structure."
Just a month ago, Daryna was enduring severe pain from scoliosis. The family hesitated to proceed with surgery, given its complexity and the unpredictable outcome. And, of course, the cost was a major hurdle.
Yet, as her condition worsened, the need for surgery became undeniable. Thanks to your support, we were able to cover the most significant expense — the corrective implant, which cost $6,670 USD.
Now, Daryna is at home, adapting to life with a plate that will be with her forever. She’s catching up on time with her pets and even starting to sit up a bit.
Thank you for supporting Daryna! Let’s continue making a difference together!
