Small houses — a big difference

Small houses — a big difference

We have been supporting Sasha and Maksym since the time when they lived in children’s boarding institutions in the Zaporizhzhia region. Now the young men are already adults and live in a supported living house for people with disabilities in Shcherbynivka in the Cherkasy region. They take care of themselves and do almost everything necessary for the functioning of their home. The Helpus Charity Foundation, with the support of the Happy Child Foundation, only provides social support and assistance with finances, medical issues, and some other matters.

In January 2026, like all Ukrainians, the young men faced many problems due to the lack of electricity caused by Russian shelling. The small existing charging station was no longer enough either to operate the boiler or to cover other needs. Electricity appeared in the house only for a few hours a day.

Small houses — a big difference

Fortunately, thanks to your donations, we were able to purchase an inverter generator for the house, as well as a fuel canister and gasoline for it. Prior to that, we bought a compact gas stove and a cylinder for the house (previously only an electric stove was used). Now the house will be more stable and less dependent on the barbaric actions of the Russians. Of course, a new need has now arisen — fuel for the generator, which amounts to approximately an additional 5,000 UAH per month.

Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to the help!

We appeal to foreigners and Ukrainians abroad, as well as all caring people, to support our small home for people with disabilities during this period and help cover the cost of fuel and other needs. We would be grateful for reposts!
