In spite of the fact that for many people Sundays are their leisure time when they prefer to rest and to stay with their families, about 20 volunteers and several members of the “Happy child” foundation collected their strength to gather at the “New hope” center and to discuss the most acute problems of Zaporozhye children. New people among volunteers and “old school” people learned about areas in the utter need of volunteers: they are weekend trips to Kalinovka, coordination of work with departments in the children’s hospitals, writing down materials of journalist investigations, organization of hikes and excursions, adding articles to the fund web page.

The practical outcome of our communication was the fact that several of the volunteers agreed to undertake definite scopes of work in these areas. Unofficial communication as well as experience exchange and advice on the enhancement of the work of the fund web page and the fund as a whole were as important.

I would like to thank once again both the meeting participants for their wish to change lives of the children for the better and the “New hope” center for providing a possibility for us to gather in a cozy hall. We will try to hold the meetings of this kind 3 times a month at the least.

If you didn’t manage to come to the meeting but still you have a wish to become a volunteer you should read the articles “We need volunteers” and “Turn to us for advice”

All the best!
