=====================================
Timosha has congenital deafness of the 5th degree. This is when the sound of a punch is heard at the level of a whisper. And everything that is quieter is not audible at all. A year ago, you and I bought powerful hearing aids for Timosha. Then the kid heard the world for the first time.
But even with the apparatus, Timosha could hear so weakly that he could not hear the words. For these children, cochlear implantation is the only way to learn to talk and live without barriers.
Thanks to the budget program, Timosha received an implant in one ear. A new acquaintance with the world of sounds began in October last year. Even with a minimal setting, the boy reacted to the voice: he began to cuddle up to his mother, hide and point his finger in the ear. Parents could not hold back tears of joy!
Usually the adaptation period takes from one to two years. At this time, the power of the implant is gradually increased so that the child gets used to new sensations and "learns" to hear. This is a very difficult period for a kid who is used to silence. After all, there is no way to explain to him what is happening to him and why it is needed.
The first six months Timosha did just fine. I worked with an audiologist and with my mother at home. Within four months, the first words appeared! Timosha's parents heard the most wonderful and long-awaited "mom" and "dad". But after the next adjustment of the implant Timosha became restless - all the time he was afraid of new sounds. Trying to get rid of the discomfort, he tore off the outer part of the implant - the speech processor - from the ear and damaged it.
It is impossible to repair the device. Once again in silence, Timosha will quickly forget everything he has learned. All words will disappear, including "mom" and "dad". To prevent this from happening, the new speech processor was taken with a guarantee of payment until the end of the summer. For Timosha's parents, 110,000 hryvnia is just an incredible amount. But if there is no payment, the processor will have to be returned.
Please support Timosha! Don't let him find himself in the world of absolute silence again, without "dad" and "mom".
We are opening a fee for a part of the amount - 3417 dollars.
The family lives in Zaporozhye
