An increase in the incidence of cancer among young women, as well as an increase in the number of patients with the disease in advanced stages, indicates the need for timely examinations and the search for new treatment methods. It is worth remembering that there are chances to overcome the disease at every stage, but it is early diagnosis that significantly increases them.
More than 23,000 women in the Orekhovsky District are providing medical care at the Orekhovskaya multidisciplinary intensive care hospital. In order to timely detect oncological and precancerous diseases, all women should undergo preventive examinations annually, including colposcopy. In the last 9 months alone, more than 15,000 women have been examined by obstetricians-gynecologists in the district, of which 383 are pregnant. Colposcopy is one of the leading examination methods. It allows for differential diagnosis of cancerous tumors and other changes in the epithelium of living tissue. It also helps to choose the optimal methods of treatment and monitor the state of female organs at various physiological periods of a woman's life, to save her from sometimes unnecessary procedures.
The gynecological department of the hospital has a cervical pathology cabinet. In 2020, more than 300 surgical interventions were performed here for patients with precancerous diseases. In addition, more than 700 women were diagnosed with cervical pathologies, and 11 faced with oncopathologies. An extremely sad statistics, because these are someone's mothers and grandmothers. The hospital management is trying to provide the department with the necessary equipment in full, and there are not enough funds for all.
The Orekhovskaya multidisciplinary hospital of intensive care turned to the Happy Child Charity Foundation with a request to consider the possibility of providing charitable assistance in the form of purchasing a modern colposcope with a video system for early detection of oncopathology at early stages. It is this more modern equipment that will allow a greater number of surgical interventions to be carried out on the spot, therefore, for complex operations, women will not need to seek help from other hospitals in the Zaporozhye region.
