Let’s Give the Children of Zaporizhzhia a Summer in the Carpathians
Friends, we need your support!
At the end of June, we plan to organize a four-day camp for children from Zaporizhzhia — right in the heart of the Bukovinian Carpathians, in the village of Samakova, located at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level.
This picturesque place, filled with the spirit of the Hutsul culture, will become a temporary home for twenty children from a frontline city. These are children who hear the sounds of war daily, who have lost their sense of safety, and who desperately need new emotions, care, and simply — a little peace and joy.
Why is this important?
This camp is not just about rest. It offers:
- psychological relief;
- new friendships;
- connection with nature;
- experiences that will stay with them for life.
Camp activities include:
- Hiking through mountain trails and discovering the nature of the Carpathians;
- Sports activities: wrestling, shooting range, tennis, football, volleyball;
- Evenings by the campfire with heartfelt conversations;
- Excursions to Chernivtsi, Verkhovyna, and the Cheremosh Valley;
- Interaction with local children and immersion in traditional Carpathian life.
Accommodation will be provided at the local school building. The program is supported by the local community and sports club.
What do we need?
The first group of children has already been formed. We want to give a chance to another group — but we need your help to make it happen.
We need to raise funds for:
- meals for the children;
- transportation from Zaporizhzhia to the Carpathians;
- program organization.
The cost for one child is approximately 4,800 UAH.
How can you help?
You can support the camp by:
- Donating — to cover food, equipment, and transportation;
- Providing gear — sleeping bags, backpacks, etc.;
- Volunteering — organizing, accompanying, or running creative activities;
- Spreading the word — share the project with your networks.
About the project
Since 2007, through the “Klubok” project, we have been organizing trips for children from Zaporizhzhia to show them the most beautiful corners of Ukraine, to offer discovery, emotion, and hope. We report every donation, and all financial information is published on our website.
