We have updates about Kamila Muratova, who is currently undergoing treatment at a clinic in Turkey.
From early childhood, the girl has been fighting a severe form of focal epilepsy. Over time, the seizures became more frequent, and medication treatment stopped producing the desired results. Therefore, doctors decided to implant a vagus nerve stimulator (VNS), which can reduce the number and intensity of seizures and protect the child’s brain from further damage. This was the purpose of the fundraising campaign, which exceeded one million hryvnias.
Thanks to the support of benefactors, our foundation managed to raise 50,000 hryvnias, which became part of the required amount for Kamila’s treatment.
At the end of February, Kamila successfully underwent the implantation of the stimulator. Currently, a challenging adaptation stage is underway: the device is operating at minimal power so that her body can gradually get used to the impulses. Because of this, the girl’s condition remains unstable. The device settings will be adjusted gradually under close medical supervision. If the dynamics remain positive, Kamila is expected to return home by the end of February.
We sincerely thank everyone who supported this fundraising effort! Your help has given Kamila a chance for a life without limitations and fear — a life where there is room for a true childhood.
