The First Port-Catheter is Finally Inserted! The Little Patient is Happy!

March 23, 2012, 21:30 11290 Author: Lyudmila Fomina, translated by Daria Sukach www.deti.zp.ua Little kids are usually happy about a new toy. Seriously ill children live in a different reality though. Little Arsen Shutt is extremely happy to receive a port-catheter as a present!

Arsen’s happy smile is probably the best evidence of the importance of a port-catheter. The little patient is joyfully taking his T-shirt off and showing his surgery marks that are carefully plastered. Little kids are usually happy about a new toy they dreamt about for a long time, but seriously ill children live in a different reality. Arsen, whose veins used to be always hidden because of constant injections, is extremely happy to receive such a great gift like a port-catheter!

Arsen is suffering from haemophilia, so the boy is destined to get blood coagulability factor and various drug injections. However, nowadays pricked veins, pain and tears are over thanks to the port-catheter that allows painless access to the boy’s veins! Arsen and his mother are grateful to all of you whose kind donations made available such an expensive but essential piece of equipment for ill children!

Without our support, six-year-old Kira Kargieva will not be able to continue essential rehabilitation and corrective therapy sessions. Please help us raise funds for treatment and development of the girl!
