Report on received and spent donations
We have known Valya Nikolaenko for more than 15 years. Over this time, we have watched this wonderful girl grow up and seen the immense challenges that have come her way.
When Valya was only three years old, she was diagnosed with portal hypertension, and after some time, she received another severe diagnosis: polycystic liver and kidney disease, which eventually led to the development of chronic kidney failure.
Valya's childhood was very different from most kids'. Instead of carefree playing, there were hospitals, intensive care units, check-ups, surgeries, and constant monitoring of her health. For many years, she waited for the chance to receive a donor kidney.
In 2023, when Valya's condition worsened significantly, she underwent a kidney transplant. Her mother became the donor, giving her daughter a second chance at life.
However, the struggle did not end after the transplant. Unfortunately, due to the long-term course of her underlying disease, other systems in her body also suffered. One of the serious consequences affected her musculoskeletal system: her hip joints began to deteriorate. Valya gradually lost the ability to move freely, developing a limp and suffering from constant chronic pain.
For many years, we have been supporting Valya and her family together with you. We help purchase the expensive medications required after transplantation, as treatment for such patients does not stop after surgery. It is a daily therapy and a constant battle for a stable state of health.
The Nikolaenko family was forced to flee the active combat zone and is currently living in a rented apartment. Valya's mother, who became her kidney donor, has a disability. Only the father is working, so the family cannot afford to cover all medical expenses on their own.
We continue to stand by Valya on her difficult path and help her receive the vital treatment she needs.
