It seemed to us that Vlad has a fairly well developed ear for music. Throughout the entire communication with the kid we were accompanied by melodies of maracas and tambourine. The boy just ignored all the other toys and earnestly pressed to his breast plastic musical instruments.

Nurses say that Vlad arrived to the orphanage in a very serious condition; he could not walk, sit, or eat... "It was painful to watch this child, - a tutor says, - he looked completely helpless. The staff of our children’s home has nursed him back to health in the literal sense of the word. Recreation therapists as well as masseurs and speech therapists worked with Vlad. And, you know, a couple of months later we saw the first positive results. Vlad became more active and began to smile and respond to his name. Later he learned to walk with his hands and entertain himself with bright rattles".

Just imagine how much this boy could change under the care of a real, close-knit and loving family.

Vlad is not an easy child. He requires an individual approach. But if you manage to find a special key to his heart, he might flourish and be healed. Though it is not up to us to save him from all physical features, but parents are quite capable of healing the wounds of this beautiful boy's heart.

Vladislav is a child with special needs.

If you are interested in adopting this child or other children, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56 and refer to the profile number of Vladislav - 0060575.

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
