Maria was born six months old, weighing one kilogram! For some time, the baby was in the intensive care unit, because she was breathing with the help of a ventilator. Premature birth left its negative consequences, and at the age of one year, the girl was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Spastic tetraparesis.
At the age of six, Maria underwent several surgical interventions: correction of a congenital dislocation of the left hip, orthopedic surgery with cutting of the tendon with the installation of a plate.
Maria is now 12 years old, and she is studying in an inclusive program. Her favorite teacher comes to paint and read fairy tales together. Also, Masha walks outside every day with great pleasure and always smiles at her neighbors and acquaintances. The girl easily finds contact with people and actively tries to communicate with those around her, but her vocabulary is still limited to a few words. And even this is enough to leave behind smiles and emotions, and therefore a bright trace in everyone's life.
Maria does not sit down or stand up on her own yet. But when he sits, he holds his head confidently. Her life still consists of trips to hospitals, examinations and rehabilitation centers. Before the war in Ukraine, the girl visited the Khadzhibey center in Odessa several times. But, unfortunately, it is not working now. So, at the moment, all hopes are for results from classes at the Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Clinic in Truskavets.
Unfortunately, with a disease like Maria's, you have to make a lot of effort to achieve at least small victories. Physical exercises improve the mobility of the muscles of the limbs and reduce the pain from spasticity attacks. And therefore, rehabilitation should be carried out continuously.
Due to a lack of funds, parents cannot always independently provide their "special" child with regular classes with specialists. That is why they turn to us.
Mariyka's next treatment course at the Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Clinic, costing 43,740 hryvnias, will take place in December 2023.
So, let's hurry to help!
