At the end of March fifteen orphans from the Molochansk Orphanage set off on a hike to ancient Crimean towns, Eski-Kermen and Mangup.

Everyone was really excited about bird’s eye views of Crimea whilst knowing that civilization has already existed on the exact same spot 15 hundred years ago!

Over a three-day hike they were able to experience the culture of Crimean Tartars. The cave towns of Eski-Kermen and Mangup impressed them with their longevity and views opening from them (both towns are located on top of the hills). No wonder they are amongst the most visited places in Crimea!

En route to the ancient towns we went uphill breathing fresh air! On site of ancient town of Eski-Kermen one can still find plenty of houses carved in the rock, we used them as shelter when we were caught off guard by the sudden rain. By the lake near Mangup we managed to warm ourselves up by the fire. We stayed at a holiday camp in the village of Khodzhi-Sala which also has an ostrich farm.

The children had a great time and were very pleased with their trip to Crimea!

The kids are grateful to all the donors who support the “Klubok” project and make trips like this happen!

By the way, anyone can help children see the world by providing Fund’s travelling scheme some support. You can donate food items which can be consumed during hikes (pulses, tinned food), or make an affordable donation using your preferred method.

"Klubok" staff will be delighted to answer any questions you may have.
