=====================================

Once three months Dasha has to go to the clinic for a check-up and prosthetic eye replacement! The donations raised last year are already spent and the family is looking forward to your kind support! This requires 1,000 euros.

Our Charity Foundation recently received an appeal from an anxious dad of a lovely little girl, Daniella (Dashenka), as her family is not able to cope with their problems alone any longer:

“Our daughter Dashenka turned two years old on the 20th of March 2011! And just a few days ago we noticed that one of her eyes is shining strangely. At first we comforted ourselves with the thought that this shining was only noticeable at a particular angle. But our concern began to increase, so we decided to take our daughter to a doctor.

After that, everything happened like in a nightmare – we made an appointment with a doctor, had an eye ultrasound exam and received a terrifying preliminary diagnosis of retinoblastoma (retinal cancer). We were sent to the Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases to verify the diagnosis. We kept on hoping that cancer would not be confirmed…But sadly, in Odessa Dashenka was diagnosed with retinoblastoma (retinal cancer). We cannot describe our feelings with words. Our girl was growing and developing so well and there was never anything alarming.

We’re asking you for help because we need to collect around 20,000 euros. This kind of a cancer is successfully treated in Germany (Essen and Berlin) and in Israel. If we manage to get the necessary amount of money in time, there’s a hope not only to preserve our daughter’s vision and avoid removal of the eye, but most importantly, to save her life. There is no proper equipment in Ukraine for such a treatment.

The German Charite clinic is already ready to treat Dashenka. Help us to save our child, please!”

The girl’s parents have been corresponding with doctors from German clinics at present. As soon as we get the treatment bill there will be no time to lose! We treasure each new day, every small donation because the chance to save the girl’s vision in Ukraine is very little.

Dashenka’s family lives in Zaporizhia.
