Orphans during the October hike in 2008

Dear friends!

The volunteers of the “Happy Child” Charitable Foundation and the www.deti.zp.ua web-site continue to organize hikes and tours for orphans from the orphanages of Zaporozhye region. The experience of 8 previous hikes that was organized in 2008/2009 has shown how useful are such activities. They bring not only impressive feelings, but the happiness of the alps conquering, which we so inaccessible earlier. And also children receive the experience of the “teamwork” that is very useful for them.

In 2010 we plan to organize six 4th days hikes along one of the most interesting routes in the mountain part of Crimean peninsula. In every tour there will be 12-15 orphans, one teacher from the orphanage, the guide and 1-2 volunteers. Luckily, thanks for our sponsors we have most of the needed tourist equipment.

We call your attention to this year hikes are planned to be organized by our own strength, without help of the tour-companies. Accordingly to the fact the cost of a hike organized by ourselves will be lower. The approximate cost for one child is $33 only (for 4 days trip) including transport charges and the food. The total cost of the tour for 15 children is $561. This cost is much less then in the tour companies (the minimum price for one person there is about 80$ not including the rent of equipment).
