Sergey has found a family!
Serhey is not the exception. Like all orphanage kids he dreams of living with his own family, with his mom and dad, where he could be just an average and beloved child. However, when it comes to talking about the opportunity to live with a family, the boy’s eyes reflect anxiety and fear; he has got used to his safe and calm orphanage life. Moreover, what would life be like for Serhey in his new family? The young lad has no idea about that. He still can’t forget his unhappy life with his biological family.
Although Serhey is an older child, his favourite fairy tale still remains “Kolobok”, a sort of “Roly-Poly”. Kolobok is a little hero of a Russian nursery tale: a baked roll who escaped from his grandparents in order not to be eaten. Serhey is also keen on the Russian cartoon hero, the hare, from “Just you wait!”. Since his favourite cartoon heroes manage to overcome all the difficulties, what can interfere with the boy’s dreams? Serhey hopes to trick a bad guy and escape him, just as the cartoon hare outwitted the wolf.
Serhey is calm and humble. He likes drawing nature. The teachers think that Serhey is rather strange; his emotional responses to things around him are spontaneous and often don’t seem appropriate for the situation at hand. Such words make my heart bleed. The problems described above are common for children who used to suffer from domestic violence. These problems can be solved, but the child cannot deal with them on his own; he needs the support of a patient and understanding adult. He needs a totally different environment – a warm-hearted, loving and reliable family, just like yours. Respond, please! Serhey is waiting for you.
Serhey is living in the boarding school.
If you are interested in adopting Serhey or other children, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents or contact us or the State Department of Adoption.
Other children who dream of finding a family.
If you are not ready to adopt at this moment (e.g. you are a student and haven’t created your own family yet) you can also help children from the boarding school (orphanage) by supporting organizationally or financially excursions and trips for the children, visiting a child in the orphanage, or helping with buying developmental toys, books, construction sets and sport equipment.
