We need to support each other!

August 5, 2011, 7:00 3446 Author: Albert Pavlov, translated by Daria Sukach www.deti.zp.ua From the 3rd till the 9th of July the picturesque place of Velyly Lug welcomed in the summer camp 27 children and young people with special needs

From the period of the 3rd to the 9th of July in the Velyky Lug (a resort district of Zaporizhia) was held the summer camp for 27 children and young people with special needs. Most of the young campers were staying there with their parents who had a nice opportunity to communicate with each other as well as support each other. Three children from the Kalinovka Orphanage also took part in the camp. Seven days surrounded by the beauties of nature were filled with warm communication and interesting games.

It’s not easy though to find a proper camping place for children with cerebral palsy or Down’s syndrome and other disabilities. Such summer camps definitely inspire children and their parents to lead life to the fullest despite all the challenges and physical limits.

This summer camp took place thanks to the support of some Christian churches, feasible donations of the camp members themselves and financial support of some foreign volunteers. We’re also grateful to our regular donor Joel who supported the summer camp campaign by his financial aid of 4, 000 hryvnyas (500 US dollars).
