Olga Bigus has a medical report that states that her daughter Darina should urgently have bone marrow transplant surgery. The treatment in the Zaporizhian Hematology Department has proved to be ineffective for the girl. Such surgical procedures as bone marrow transplant are not often performed in Ukraine. So, Darina’s only chance for life is to undergo a bone marrow transplant abroad.
Recommendation for bone marrow transplant surgery abroad
Darina’s mother was mentally ready for this tough situation, so she has started to act immediately. Thanks to volunteers she’s been corresponding with the Italian clinic and processing all the necessary documents for the treatment according to the Ukrainian-Italian Lifeline project. Although the financial issue of the treatment in Italy is already solved by the International Charity Foundation, the trip to Italy and living expenses there need to be covered by the family of the sick child.
All in all the family needs 20,000 euros or 27,943 US dollars. This includes: a certain sum of money in the bank account to cover their months-long stay in Italy (this is a visa requirement from the Italian embassy in Ukraine); paying for the processing documents and health insurance bills; paying for the trip from Ukraine to Italy and back; living\food\fare expenses during 6-8 months of treatment in Italy.
Darina is currently in remission after the second FLAG chemotherapy course. There’s no time to lose, so the girl’s mother is preparing for their journey to Italy. Thanks to some warm-hearted donors, we have already managed to collect 7,000 euros (9,663 US dollars). But a big sum of 11,000 euros (15,000 US dollars) must still be raised! We’re appealing to the entire world. Please help us, collect this vitally important amount of money so Darina can have her treatment in the Italian clinic!
You can make donations for Darina Bigus treatment. The transfer details can be found at the help appeal page request.
