=====================================

Dear Everyone,

We – Yulia and Oleg, the parents of Orynka Priymak are asking you for financial help.

Our daughter Oryna was diagnosed with “two-sided chronic sensorineural deafness of the 4th stage” in September, 2011. Unfortunately, with such a diagnosis, our lovely girl can’t develop properly as she can’t hear anything and as a result she can’t speak.

The advance of modern medicine makes it possible to get over this terrible barrier by means of cochlear implant surgery. This surgical procedure can help our daughter return to normal life: to go to kindergarten and later to the usual secondary school together with the children who can hear.

The optimal age for the operation is 1-3 years old. Our daughter is 1 year and 10 months now, so it is very important for us not to lose time. Now she is taking a course of pre-operation rehabilitation at the Institute of otolaryngology named after prof. Kolomyichenko (Kyiv, Ukraine). But the cost of the implant and the operation is too high for our family. Sonata Ti 100 implant and Opus 2 speech processor (produced by MEDEL, Austria) cost together in Ukraine 258,680 hryvnyas, that’s about 23,000 euros or 32,000 US dollars. (The documents that confirm the necessity of the operation are enclosed).

We’re appealing to all kind people to help our little daughter to hear this wonderful world of sounds – the rustling of leaves under her feet, the tune of rain, spring thunder. We will be grateful for any possible financial donation for buying an implant and the operation.

Thank You for Your understanding and help.

Sincerely yours, Yulia and Oleg Prymak.
