During spring vacations, Klubok Project of the Happy Child Foundation opened the hiking season. Ten children from large and foster families of the Zaporozhye region together with the ten students of Donetsk Orphanage No. 1 (participation of Donetsk children became possible due to the support of Skoda Club and Donetsk-based volunteer Alexandr Lushin) took part in the first spring hiking tour.

The first day was devoted to Sevastopol places of interest. Children made a boat ride in Sevastopol bay, visited the Aquarium Museum, took a walk and made photos at the Artbay embankment. Then they went to the “35th Battery” Museum located at Khersoness peninsula. The building of the museum was renovated just recently, and the story of the battery told by the tour guide in underground tunnels left nobody indifferent. The final part of the tour to the battery was visiting the pantheon where on its dome a multimedia projector showed thousands of faces of people who heroically died at the fight for Sevastopol in 1942.

We spent the following three days at the Lesotel guest house in Baydarskaya Valley. The wonderful hosts of the Lesotel, Timur and Yelena, welcomed our group and provided accommodation and meals free of charge! The young participants of our hiking tour had a chance to make everyday excursions from Baydarskaya Valley to the most interesting places of the Western Crimea.

We crossed the Baydarskiye Vorota pass to the Foros church, where we went down to the beach at the Foros village. Some children were even not afraid of the ice-cold water and opened the swimming season.

On the next day we visited Object No. 221 (a mountain tunnel system not far from Morozovka) and got down to the Chernorechensky Canyon. There we could enjoy the huge snowdrop glades. None of the tour participants will forget wading the Black river with its icy water. Nevertheless, some guys still felt lack of extreme senses, so they went bungee-jumping and diving into the mountain river. Despite the extreme bathing in streams, mountain rivers, and the Black sea, all children came back home absolutely healthy.

Children would like to say thank you to all the sponsors, who support the Klubok project and make such hiking tours possible!

By the way, anyone can help children see the world by supporting the tourist program of the Foundation. You can help with food products, which are necessary in such tours (cereals, tinned products), or make a donation, selecting any method convenient for you.

Representatives of our Foundation will be glad to answer all your questions.
