As a child I loved reading books about children - partisans. Their courageous actions and desire to win inspired me. Some adults might even have envied their strength of will.
As a teenager, I loved stories about self-made people who have achieved something no matter what.
Now, at the conscious age, I am inspired by people-fighters. People who deal with circumstances and other people. Fight and overcome in any situation.
Margarita is such a person – a real struggler. A lot of people who see her for the first time are touched by her smile. Some are baffled and confused with her fragility. Some are scared by her helplessness and vulnerability. To some she reminds a little doll.
For all the people, this little princess seems to be different. For me, she is a little martyr, who has been fighting for survival every coming day, every month, every year. This girl has special needs as well as she needs constant care and assistance. But as much she needs caring parents.
If someone is confused looking at her, let me tell you the following: I turn on the music and the girl smiles in response. Thereby showing us, adults, how little she needs to be happy. In addition, she always laughs and smiles at my attempt to stroke her arm or unclench her fists which are almost always clinched. No matter how difficult, painful, and hard her life is, this girl fights. For her life, attention and affection of adults.
If you are interested in adopting Margarita, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56 quoting Margarita’s Profile Number 0055617.
Other children who dream of finding a family
If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
