Vladimir perceives the environment by touch. He doesn't know how the sunset, the sea, the sky, the stars look like… For this child only those things exist, which he can reach.
However, strange as it may sound, Vladimir successfully manages without being helped. He independently dresses, eats and moves in the rooms, well-known since his childhood. The boy is curious and active, he constantly touches something, finds unknown objects and explores them. Vladimir can find anything by his fingers!
During our communication Vladimir found a big basket with Meccano by touch and started building a tall tower from it. He was so much involved, that stopped noticing everything that was happening around. It seemed that he could sit like that for several hours. This boy possesses a generous amount of assiduity and persistency.
Vladimir also became interested in the dry pool with great amount of light plastic balls. He took them into his hands with great pleasure, threw them and rolled on his palms.
His favorite occupation is to play hide-and-seek with people around. He constantly tries to find a secluded place, where he could stay unnoticed for several hours. The nannies say that they already know where they can find Vladimir if necessary. He likes to hide under beds, in wardrobes and bedside tables. Most likely this is not just a game. The boy feels safe there. Vladimir lacks a person who could be side by side and lead him by the hand through the darkness, which extends in front of his eyes.
We would like this child to find a real family and got to know what the all-absorbing parental love is.
Vladimir is a child with special needs.
If you are interested in adopting this child or other children, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56 and refer to the profile number of Vladimir - 0251663.
Other children who dream of finding a family
If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
