Sofiya Kozlova

Last summer, Sofiya, who had never experienced any health problems before, suddenly felt a severe and unusual headache. She was urgently hospitalized, and while in intensive care, she was diagnosed with acute intracerebral hemorrhage in the left temporal lobe caused by a vessel rupture. Further examinations revealed a rare congenital condition — arteriovenous malformation (AVM).

Due to the complexity and high risk of traditional surgical intervention, the only safe and effective treatment option for Sofiya is radiosurgical therapy abroad using the CyberKnife system.

Sofiya's story is also one of loss. In 2022, her family was forced to flee their hometown of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast because of the war. Without a graduation party or a chance to say goodbye to her classmates, she received her high school certificate from her teacher and immediately left for a safer place. She later enrolled in a local university in Dnipro and continued her studies online.

Drawing is one of her main passions. Sofiya completed art school, and creativity has always helped her find inner strength. But now, due to persistent headaches, she barely has the energy for her favorite activity.

The Center for Stereotactic Radiosurgery in Sigulda, Latvia, is ready to perform the procedure in early July 2025. The total cost of treatment is over 7,000 euros. The family has already started raising funds with the help of relatives and friends. Now, they are seeking assistance from the foundation, as time is running out.

Our goal is to collect part of this amount: to cover the cost of pre-procedure preparation, including diagnostic tests (CT, MRI), which totals €1,865.75 (approximately 90,000 UAH).
