Denis went on December 5th checkup in Germany. We expect news from the parents for the resumption request. Many thanks to all caring people who help your child

=====================================

It all started with a simple cold. Denis had a fever and the pediatrician’s prescription did not help. After an extended period of time with a high temperature, Denis was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. Denis’ mother, Irina, could not understand how her son’s health could change so quickly. He laughed, tore leaves from houseplants, called out “ma-ma-ma” and suddenly his head sank, legs and arms became weak and he closed his eyes.

“Your eyes… they are clear, bright, inquisitive, trusting.

They are strong, courageous unlike a child and wise.

Your eyes… they are the most favored, beloved, kind and gentle.

I wish I could see those same eyes again.”

During the first few days of his time in the emergency room, doctors could not figure out the diagnosis. Some doctors have an idea, but not all the doctors agreed. The last idea was meningitis. But the probability that it was actually meningitis was very small – less than five percent according to the doctors. Well, it was decided to take a blood sample. It was finally determined that Denis has acute meningoencephalitis caused by the herpes simple virus severe form and swelling of the brain.

“I’m listening to his every breath and exhalation, I look at each centimeter of his face. And each time I try to put him to bed, he protests. He misses his mother’s hugs. Looking out the window it’s dark. It’s time for me to leave. And he squeezed my fingers in his mouth.

It’s amazing how little children can feel that we are trying to hide something from them. Well, it seems, like he is asleep. Going, I down at him through the window and he looks back at me. Good night, my son.” Irina remembers these last minutes of happiness and pain when she was allowed in the intensive care unit.

While in intensive care, Denis needs very expensive medications ("meropinem", "Zovirax" and others), care products (diapers, wipes, urological diapers, baby lotion and soap), baby food (NAN 2 fermented milk). The cost of all of these supplies is about 80 USD. Denis’ parents have exhausted all possible and impossible options. Now Denis’ only hope in is our hands. We do not know when his health will be stable, only God knows.

The family lives in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporozhe region
