=====================================

Anastasiia Kovalenko

Fourteen-year-old Nastya Kovalenko currently resides in Zaporizhzhia. Prior to the conflict with Russia, she lived in the Chernihiv district and attended the Kamian boarding school for hearing-impaired children, where she formed close bonds with many friends who were as unique as she was. Together, they communicated effectively and explored the world around them. However, due to the military aggression, all students were compelled to relocate to safer areas, leading Nastya, along with her older sister and mother, to Zaporizhzhia.

Nastya experiences 1-3 degrees of hearing impairment, making hearing aids essential for her to fully engage with the external world. While she used to play basketball, an injury to her back and pectoral muscle during a competition four years ago necessitates periodic hospital treatment. Despite these health challenges, Nastya excels in her studies, finds joy in drawing, and values communication.

An active lifestyle demands optimal functioning of all of Nastya's sensory systems, particularly her hearing. Successful learning relies on concentration and clear perception of information, whether in the classroom or remotely. Currently, Nastya faces challenges in sound perception due to outdated hearing aids that need replacement. Upgrading to modern hearing aids would significantly improve her ability to understand the teacher and communicate with classmates.

The cost of two hearing aids totals 59,000 hryvnias (approximately 1,500 US dollars). We kindly request your assistance in raising funds, as it is challenging for a family with IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) status to afford such a significant expense without external support.
