On the eve of the Christmas holidays, we announced a fundraiser for sweet gift sets for children in Zaporizhzhia. We dreamed that the children's eyes would sparkle with happiness for a moment, that a genuine smile would appear, and that despite the war, the belief in miracles would come to life. And we succeeded! Thanks to you, incredible magicians from all over the world!
985 children received sweet gifts, and in return, we received much more – nearly a thousand sincere smiles and sparks of joy in their happy eyes!
Two hundred gift sets were handed out to children from two communities in our region, whose residents are now in Zaporizhzhia. Seventy sets went to children from Vasylivska School No. 1, which is temporarily located in Zaporizhzhia, while 400 sets were delivered to the "Youth Hub." One hundred and fifteen gift sets were given to the Coordination Humanitarian Center, which then distributed them to children during festive events.
Two hundred sweet gifts were given to children by our friends – the "Smikhonosy." Volunteer actors created a true celebration for children and people with disabilities at the "Creative Hub" and also entertained children receiving treatment at the Tuberculosis Dispensary and in three departments of the Regional Children's Hospital: traumatology, surgery, and oncoghematology.
"Oncoghematology is a department for children with blood diseases," say the Smikhonosy. "Guests don’t often visit here, but we’re grateful that we are allowed to see children who need support and the chance to forget their pain and sad thoughts, even if just for a moment. It’s important for the parents too, who are also under stress. Our mission is to do no harm! We strive to bring a little fun into their lives, so they can take a break and 'breathe.' This time, our performance was that 'switch,' and we are happy that life has once again echoed in this space."
