Dima Tovarchiy, born in 10.09.2010

Diagnosis: Cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, PMTCT

For three whole years, dad and mom have been waiting for Dima's birth. And here are the cherished two stripes, a happy pregnancy and ... difficult childbirth. Hypoxia left the baby almost no chance of survival. But Dimka was determined to live! And two months later I came home.

By the age of four months, the baby could boast of only one achievement - the ability to eat from a bottle. Until that time, food came through a special catheter, since there was no sucking reflex. Dima did not hold his head and did not turn over, but it was clear from his cheerful eyes and a radiant smile that he understood everything. By eight months, three large letters appeared in the history of the disease - cerebral palsy.

Now Dima is nine. Without support, the boy cannot sit, holds his head poorly and does not control his legs. Dima is a third grade student and enjoys studying at home. He knows letters and numbers, remembers everything well. True, the boy's training is special: he shows the correct answers with his eyes. Dima loves to listen to funny stories, read fairy tales with pictures with his mother, go with his grandparents to the dacha.

Medication, rehabilitation and massages improve the boy's condition and help him move forward. Dima does physical therapy at home every day, once or twice a year he manages to work with specialists from rehabilitation centers. After undergoing treatment at the Avatazh center, Dima's hands miraculously began to work. Such achievements inspire further fight against the disease.

Mom Tatiana is engaged in the care, upbringing and development of Dima, and only dad works in the family. All income goes to the restoration of his only son. Rehabilitation for cerebral palsy is a long and expensive process. It is necessary to practice constantly: each course of rehabilitation is a step towards a fulfilling life, while stopping is ten steps back.

Already in the fall, Dima is expected at the Avatazh center. Let's support the boy and give him the opportunity to take one more step towards a healthy childhood!

The family lives in Zaporozhye.
