Since birth, Polina has developed more slowly than her peers: she sat up only at nine months, took her first steps at sixteen months, but never started speaking. She barely slept, waking up every 15 minutes crying, and doctors couldn't find the reason.

Later, Polina was diagnosed with a cervical spine anomaly, vertebral fusion, strabismus, developmental delay, and autism. At four and a half years old, she does not speak, hardly understands spoken language, is frightened by loud noises, and feels lost among other children. Doctors still cannot determine the exact cause of her condition.

Despite all the challenges, Polina is open to the world. She loves interacting with people and always reaches out to them. She enjoys helping her mother in the kitchen, watching how meals are prepared, and eagerly tossing food pieces into water or a frying pan. She adores water and could play with it for hours. She wants to explore the world, but without the right treatment and correction, her opportunities are limited.

Long-term sessions with specialists have not yielded results, and despite numerous consultations with doctors, the cause of Polina’s condition remains unknown. The only chance to get answers is through genome sequencing. This special analysis allows scientists to study a person's DNA to identify possible genetic abnormalities that could be responsible for her condition. The results will help develop an effective treatment plan.
