Vladislav Taran: "We are still in great need of your support!"

June 27, 2013, 23:00 2686 Author: Alina Senyuk, translated by Anya Gvozdyeva www.deti.zp.ua This family still needs our help to purchase the drugs. It's been a huge journey already, a lot of effort was invested in fighting off the disease but the battle for Vladislav's life must go on!

Over two months ago we all faced quite a task: we were meant to help Vladislav undergo a vital series of treatments with ATGAM drug. It wasn't the easiest of tasks. We really struggled to collect UAH 60,000 (7,500 US dollars). But in the end we've managed to purchase this expensive drug, and we could never have done it without you. We thank all of you who helped out from the bottom of our hearts!

Once we had the required amount, we hit other issues on the way. It appeared that it's difficult to get hold of ATGAM in Ukraine. We were scouring all the pharmacies, there were lots of mishaps but we got the remaining three packs of it!

We would like to thank our supplier Leonid Lobanok for his efforts in the search of the drug, and also our volunteers and employees who managed to trace and pass on the drug from Kiev to the hospital in Zaporozhye.

Last Friday Vladislav finished taking the drug, the treatment went smoothly. Vladislav has been enduring the drug quite well and feels ok now, considering. The doctors and relatives are waiting for the test results to see if the treatment was a success.

In two months’ time Vladislav will be transferred to the Regional Hospital for adults since he will be 18 years old, there he will continue the treatment of his serious condition. For now he's taking "Ekvaral", also an expensive drug.

This family still needs our help to purchase the drugs. It's been a huge journey already, a lot of effort was invested in fighting off the disease but the battle for Vladislav's life must go on!
