The summer has faded away so quickly. Little Arthur did not have the opportunity to improve his health at the seaside. Soon after Arthur completed his immunopotentiating therapy last June, he had to face some really tough times. His rare moments of feeling well rapidly changed with dystonic attacks. There was nothing else to do but to undergo two-sided inguinal (groin) hernia repair surgery since there was a high risk of its strangulation. This two-year old boy had no choice but to be brave and strong since physicians were concerned how he would withstand general anesthesia.
The operation was performed on September 25th by Prof S.V. Vesyoliy in Donetsk (eastern Ukraine). Although the surgery was long and rather challenging – this little hero made it well! Arthur’s condition is still critical but we believe that recent surgery will decrease the number of seizures and the boy will make new steps towards a happy childhood.
There is some good news we’d like to share with you. Arthur has grown up a lot this summer. He is starting to respond to the world around him and show his emotions of happiness and anger. He can now move more and pronounce more sounds. Arthur is slowly reaching his goals. Your support gives Arthur’s family strength to fight for their son every day.
Arthur’s parents are grateful to Yaroslav, Olga, Alexey, Artem and everyone who kindly supports their son. Thank you very much!
Arthur’s journey to recovery is still very long: he needs to take some rehabilitation courses, learn new skills and win the battle against his seizures. This all means a lot of money the boy’s parents do not have. Let’s combine our efforts to show little Arthur that he is not alone!
